I have a confession and I suspect I’m not alone

I’m about to tell you something that (I think) many people can relate to. I’m 34 years old, a full-fledged adult with a freelance career and a home, and I still feel like I have no idea what I’m doing most of the time.

Okay okay, that’s a hyperbole. I am aware of my competences, but let’s face it – it is so easy to fall into the trap of comparing yourself so someone who seems more like a “proper” grown-up who has it all figured out.

I suspect that behind closed doors, that’s not the case. Surely, even outwardly successful people still struggle with unloading the dishwasher, skip workouts in favour of watching reality TV, and fumble their tax returns.

Even when it comes to my friends – my actual peers, unlike mythical Instagram faces – it’s easy to forget that they don’t have a manual to follow either.

Are we all just cosplaying as adults?
